Creating the bow
Knowing how to create a fancy bow opens so many home decor options up for you and it is so simple to do! I am going to walk you through it today on the blog. If you can’t get it right the first time don’t get frustrated and quit. I know you can do it! I always use a fancy bow on the top of my wreaths because it hides the hanger!

Step 1: Get your supplies ready
You are going to need wired ribbon (make sure it has a wire in it to hold the bow), floral wire, floral scissors, and a 3M removable hanger for the wreath. I am so in love with these 3M removable hangers. I use them for all of my holiday decor or other items that I know I am going to know I want to move later. No holes to patch, no painter to call!
Step 2: Make your first loop
You are going to want to give your bow a little bit of a tail (5-6 inches) and then make your first loop. Don’t cut the ribbon off the spool until you make all your loops and second tail.
Step 3: Make your second loop and twist the base of the first and second loops together
Step 4: Make your third loop and twist the base of the first, second, and third loops together
Step 5: Make your fourth loop and twist the base of the first, second, third, and fourth loop together.
Step 6: You are going to allow another (5-6 inches) of ribbon for the second tail and cut the bow off the spool
For both cuts you are going to want to cut at a diagonal.
Step 7: Cut a piece of floral wire approximately 9 inches long and tighten around the twisted base of the bow.
Then put one end of the wire through two of the loops and again tighten around the twisted base of the bow.
You did it!! If it doesn’t turn out perfect the first time, stick with it and try it again, practice makes perfect!
