One of my favorite parts of my daughter’s room update was her desk work space. In keeping with the entire color theme of the room we went with aqua/teal, pink, and white. It is such a cheery spot in her room. Not only does she like to do her homework here but it is a great place to read, draw, and do crafts. It was so much fun to watch her set up and organize all her drawers with her treasures and art supplies! The Micke Desk from IKEA is such a sturdy, small desk that fit perfect in this space and provided a clean neutral canvas for the space. It had just the right amount of hidden storage for art supplies and just the right amount of shelf space to display all her treasures and personalize the space. My daughter wanted to make the desk have a little more splash of color so I covered the magnetic back splash with aqua scrapbook paper. We plan on adding some more magnetic frames in the future to personalize the space even more. I simply attached the aqua scrapbook paper to the magnetic back splash by using double sided scrapbook tape.
We added a desk lamp since the only other light in that room is a chandelier and many times she is doing her homework at night. To add some more splashes of color to the neutral desk we selected an aqua desk lamp.
To continue adding aqua/teal accents to the space we selected a teal desk chair that she loves! It fits perfectly with the size of the desk and is surprisingly comfortable. A fantastic price too!
Love that she has a workspace of her own to do homework and art and that it is a space that she can continue to grow into and enjoy as she get’s older as well.
