I created one of these keepsake boxes for each of my daughters and have them in their rooms. I remember one day at the park when my oldest was a baby a neighbor said to me, “You need to keep these adorable little pink baby shoes. You can donate or give away her other things as she gets older but make sure to keep these shoes!”
I listened to this neighbors advice and kept both pairs of my daughters first shoes! Wanted a way to display their first shoes and birth announcement so I created these adorable shadow boxes. They are super simple to create and a good way to preserve these precious memories! Step 1: Apply the scrapbook paper to back panel of shadow box with hot glue. Since the back of the shadow box is 13 x 13 and the standard scrapbook paper is 12 x 12, I would use one sheet as the center and select a different patterned sheet to do a 1 inch border around. Attach the scrapbook paper to the shadow box using hot glue.
Step 2: Place the shoes in either the bottom left or bottom right corner so they are held in place between the backing and the glass. If they need help staying upright you could also use hot glue to adhere the shoes to the shadow box backing.
Step 3: Attach the birth announcement to the opposite top corner from the shoes. The birth announcement can be adhered using the hot glue.
Voila! You have a beautiful keepsake to enhance the decor in your big kids room!
