Wanted to add a little more festive holiday cheer to our family room! Check out the steps below to create this easy, neutral look for your favorite room of the house as well!
Step 1: Mix artificial and real greenery
My favorite rule for home decor this holiday season is mixing real and artificial greenery to create a full and authentic look! The garland I added with the Christmas lights is artificial as well as the mini Christmas trees however the cans of greenery are real (a mix of evergreen and two different kinds of eucalyptus, which smells amazing!!!). By mixing the artificial greenery with real you can keep the cost and maintenance minimal without sacrificing the look!
Step 2: Incorporate candles to create coziness
In all my home decor scenes I always try to incorporate real or faux candles to add warmth and coziness. In this case I added the gorgeous candle I created at Scentcerely Yours Geneva.
Step 3: Add Varied Height
Used my trusty cake platter to center the scene and add height to create visual interest.
Step 4: Use inexpensive and unique containers for the greenery
The silver containers that I have the live greenery in are actually new paint cans from the hardware store. I think I bought each of them last year for less than $2 dollars each. They are perfect because they will hold water perfect and I love the simple metallic look of them!
