I love making gift baskets! I just think they are so beautiful and WOW you at first glance! Putting together some more teacher gifts this week and decided to do “favorites” baskets filled with all the teachers favorite things. Gift cards to their favorite stores, favorite drinks, favorite snacks, etc. Wanted to walk you through how I create these baskets especially as it relates to their festive wrappings and share a secret about how I create my gift tags! The first key to creating a gift basket is the basket! I found some adorable boxes at Target last night that work just as good as a basket! Love the Brown Gift Box with Chalk Label that you can add a festive greeting on with chalk! The Hard Set Up Box With Bow is also great for a smaller gift. You want to select a basket (or box) that will fit all your items but that has no extra space after you add in all your items. This gives the basket the appearance of overflowing with gifts which is going to make any recipient smile!
You are going to going to want to pull out a large sheet of cellophane and place the basket in the middle of it. You want the sheet to be about 4 inches taller than the basket on both sides to provide adequate room to tie a bow. You want to pull up both sides up and and tightly fasten the ribbon to the top. If the sides of the cellophane are open I just tape them against the side.
These gift tags are my favorite! Another good use of Trader Joe bags! I simply take a heart cookie cutter, trace the shape, cut it out, hole punch a hole at the top and secure with the ribbon. Love the rustic homemade look of these!
Gift boxes are such a beautiful way to present a gift! Love the rustic homemade additions such as the heart gift tags that show how much love was put into the gift!
