Time for one of my very favorite segments of the week! HFH Tribe where we take home decor design and shopping questions from you! Please keep the questions coming in, we love to hear from you!
This week we are going to be responding to a reader trying to figure out how to decorate the large space at the top of her stairs. This area is one of the first things you see when you walk into the house. It is a tricky area because the decorations need to be large enough to be impactful at a distance but also small enough so that you are not overpowered when you are walking next to them in the hallway upstairs. Have some great possible solutions to the problem! Set of Framed Prints
What I like about using a set of framed & matted prints in an area like this is that as a group they are very impactful but close up they are not overpowering. So when you see the wall at a distance you are going to notice the beautiful picture of all the frames in totality but when you get close up when you are walking through the hall you are going to notice and appreciate each picture individually. I selected these two options to go with because they are very neutral, simple, and classic. They are also all ready to go matted and framed as a beautifully put together set. Additionally, they are very reasonably priced! If you went with the Botanical Set I would actually order two sets and place the sets on top of each other. For the Black and White Farm Set I would buy one set and hang as shown in the picture.
A large sign would also be a great option here. A perfect way to welcome people into the house and to personalize the space. Love this modern and fresh family name sign on the left for this space. Also an extra large Gather sign would look amazing here or a quote about family on reclaimed wood would be beautiful and add some texture to the space.
Love the idea of adding wood to a space like this to give it some warmth, texture, and visual interest to the space. Love the wood geometric shape art as an option, so many beautiful colors and visual interest that draws you in! The mountain landscape made of wood would be beautiful here as well. I love the set of 3 wood hexagons with artificial succulents what a great way to add some depth to the space and some life with the artificial greenery!
